Who can access the NHS Podiatry Service provided by HRCH?
You MUST be registered with a Hounslow GP.
The service is open to eligible adults and children.
NHS Funded Podiatry is not available to everyone.
The aim of the service is to prevent foot ulcers, emergency hospital admissions, amputations and people with a high risk of developing serious foot problems ( such as an ulcer or amputation) are prioritised.
√ Yes- we can treat you if:
- You have a medical condition that would make you at a higher risk of developing a foot ulcer e.g., loss of sensation or circulation to the foot, high risk diabetes foot, rheumatoid arthritis.
- You have had a previous foot ulcer or an amputation.
- You take a prescribed medicine that would make you at a higher risk of developing a foot ulcer e.g., long-term steroids, chemotherapy.
- You have an acute, urgent problem with your feet e.g., a foot ulcer or an infected in growing toenail ( i.e. hot, red, swollen toe with bleeding, pus or discharge).
- You have a Painful musculo skeletal condition of the foot or leg which affects your ability to carry out activities of daily living.
X No- we cannot treat you for:
- Fingernail cutting
- Toenail cutting (unless combined with medical risk above)
- Simple skin and nail care which could be self-managed
- Verruca
Only use this form if you can attend a clinic close to home. If you are completely housebound, we need a referral from your GP or health professional.
Please be aware the NHS Podiatry service is in high demand. Your referral will be triaged by a clinician and you will be sent an acknowledgment and advised on current waiting times.
